General Terms and Conditions

General Terms and Conditions of Hang Heung Bakery Workshop

The bakery workshop is operated by Hang Heung Bakery Workshop (hereinafter referred to as “HHBW”). By continuing to browse and use "Splitdyboat" website to book "HHBW" bakery workshop, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions of use. These terms, together with our privacy policy, govern the relationship between Splitdyboat, HHBW and you in relation to this website.

Enrollment

● Once course enrollment is confirmed, it cannot be changed to another course and/or canceled. All paid fees are non-refundable. However, participants may arrange a replacement attendee by notifying the school at least 24 hours before the scheduled class date and time.
● If a participant is absent at the scheduled class time, it will be treated as a forfeiture. Fees paid and materials will not be refunded or returned, and no transfer to other courses is allowed.
● Courses are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability.
● If a course is canceled due to insufficient enrollment, participants will be notified via email, SMS, or phone 2 days before the course date.
● The school reserves the right to change the scheduled date, time, content, and/or instructor of the course.
● Participants must arrive 15 minutes before the class and present the original payment receipt for identity verification. Unauthorized persons are not allowed to enter.

Weather Arrangements

● If Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above, or a Black Rainstorm Warning is in force, classes will be canceled.
● If such warnings are lowered at least 4 hours before the class, the class will proceed as normal (e.g., if lowered at 8:00, a 12:00 class proceeds; if lowered at 12:00, a 16:00 class proceeds).
● If such warnings are issued during the class, the class will continue as normal.
● For classes canceled due to severe weather, participants may enroll in another course of the same fee within 3 months or arrange a replacement attendee. Cancellation requests must be made within 3 working days from the original course date. Late requests will not be accepted.

General Policies

● Participants are responsible for safeguarding their personal belongings. HHBW is not liable for any loss or damage.
● Participants acknowledge and agree that photos and/or videos may be taken during the class for record-keeping, promotional, and/or marketing purposes.
● Audio or video recording during the class is strictly prohibited without prior consent. HHBW reserves the right to request deletion of such recordings.
● Participants must understand and accept the risks associated with using knives and kitchen equipment. HHBW is not liable for any accidents, injuries, or damages arising from such use (including but not limited to legal claims or compensation).
● All tools, kitchen equipment, and facilities belong to HHBW. Participants must use them properly. Any damage caused by negligence or intentional misuse must be compensated.
● No takeaway containers will be provided. Participants must bring their own if they wish to take home their work.
● Food images on the website are for reference only.

History of Hang Heung

Founded in 1920 in Yuen Long, Hong Kong, as Hang Heung Restaurant (恆香酒家), a traditional teahouse serving dim sum.

Key Milestones:

  • 1940s: Renamed Hang Heung Restaurant, focusing on Cantonese dim sum and small dishes
  • 1970s: Pivoted to Chinese pastries, becoming famous for Wife Cakes (老婆餅)
  • Present: Over 100+ pastry varieties, invented white lotus paste mooncakes, produces 25,000+ Wife Cakes daily

Awards: Hong Kong Top Brand (1999), Outstanding Brand (2018), 10-Year Achievement Award (2019)

Iconic Products: wife cakes, honeycomb egg rolls, wedding pastries, mooncakes. Factory tours available. Century-old craftsmanship preserved through 3 generations of pastry masters.
